Morel mushroom hunt info

Border Bucks Outfitters offers some of the finest land to hunt the popular morel mushroom. The morel appears in our area around the 20th of April, sometimes sooner, sometimes later. This time of year coincides with our turkey season, and some of the best crappie fishing action that can be had. The morel grows in our area, around dead and or dying elm trees, maple trees, cottonwood trees, and various other places. It is not uncommon to find grocery bags full of Morel’s if one wants to put forth the effort. There is no better meal than, fried morel’s and crappie fillets. If you want to add a turkey into the mix, this is one of my favorite times to be in the woods.
